I’ve “inherited” a EL4120ME from the previous tenants of my store. Is there a way to reset this to factory settings so I can begin to use this? It’s powered up and plugged into our router but doesn’t show up on the device list so I suspect it has a static IP assigned not in our range.
Just because the DVR does not show up does not mean it is not connected to network. Sometimes if the router does not assign an IP address to DVR it will not show in that list. It really depends on router and its’ firmware. To default the unit you can log in and go to main menu / settings / default. DVR default IP is 192.168.1.108. Also you can go into main menu / settings / network to manually assign address. You can ping the IP address with the command prompt to verify it is communicating or not.
