I have a tri dvr pre32 and I noticed that when I playback video some cameras only store 1 day of video and others much longer. For example I have a camera that has recorded data that I can go back 3 years, but I have another camera in which I can only rewind the previous day. All of my cameras are setup to record on motion activation. I have a mixed amount of analog and TVI cameras. I've read through the manual and I cant seem to find anything so I can balance them out. I have 3TB of storage and I currently have 3 POE IP cameras, 8 960H and 12 TVI 1080P cameras. I wish to expand my storage with an additional (3) 3Tb drives in the near future and I plan on replacing all of the older analog cameras with TVI in the next few months. Is there a setting in the DVR that will let me "balance" the camera recordings so I can get the same saved recording time across all of the cameras.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hello and thank you for your post,

If you only have one 3TB drive inside then all of the cameras are writing to the same drive, meaning you should be getting the same amount of days stored for each camera.

However since you are recording motion, it is possible that some of the cameras are not recognizing the motion. I would suggest double checking all of the motion settings first.

I checked all of the settings on each channel and I was able to confirm they are set to all record on motion. Is there some way you can load balance the hard drive for each camera so their even. I understand that HD video takes up more room than analog but I have one analog "motion detector" camera which has constant movement + hours a day and I can go back and see nearly 2 years of video, I also have a Sibell hd cam which sees only a few hours a day and I can barely see what happened in the morning before it disappears.

I am not understanding how you could possibly have more time saved on one camera than on another... other than the simple fact that they were installed at different times, and the amount of space being used.

I also have no idea how 1x 3TB is getting you 2 years of storage. This is sounding like something we are going to have to log in and verify with you, then we can look forward to resolving the issue.

When you call in please have your order information handy, as we only support our customers. Thank you.

All but 3 cameras were in place when we got the dvr originally, a couple have been swapped out with new ones, but the majority were installed at the same time as the dvr and some existed before on an older system. The dvr, cameras, wiring, bnc connectors, multi channel power supply boxes, and the original hard drive came from you guys. I will call tech support on Monday morning.

Thanks for your help
