I have an IP network camera whose IR flashes on/off continuously at night.  I tried the hard reset, and fiddling with anti-flicker, turning off the landscaping lights, etc., but no joy. I know I bought it almost 2 years ago, and really cannot remember what the warranty period was on the camera when I bought it.  Is there any hope?

There is always hope! If the IRs start flashing it means that the camera does not getting enough power when the IRs turn on at night or there is a cabling issue. Check your power source or try to use a different one.

Hmmm... well, it's POE, and I bought the cable that connects it to the NVR from securitycameraking.  I'll have to see if I can find a separate power supply to run it on.

The POE portion is failing on the camera or the POE power source is what it looks like.

Well, I actually ordered another NVR (8-ch with POE) to upgrade from the 'tiny' one I currently have. I hope that the POE on this one is more robust, and solves my issue.

You need to determine if the camera is failing. To do that you need to take it down and connect it to a different port on your POE switch.  If it runs without issue then the POE port or cable run is bad. If camera has issues then POE on camera needs to be repaired.  Should it be the cable or port you would need to test to determine which is the issue.

I actually set up my new NVR and a monitor a few feet away from the camera, so I could use shorter cables and switch POE ports at will.  Sorry to say nothing helps.
