I recently added the Dahua Elite doorbell to my home system.

After a short fight to get it to pair up with the 2.4 gig half of my router (hint: This device does not like VPN's) I have it online and working so long as I don't turn on the VPN on my iPhone. Any advise there...?

Equally as important, I want to add it to my Elite series NVR, but the NVR won't find it as a remote device. After some digging, I found out my doorbell assigned itself with a XXX.XXX.3.X IP address and the rest of my network stuff is all XXX.XXX.1.X.

What do I need to do to change the IP address of the Elite doorbell, or otherwise work around this issue?

If this is in the wrong sub-forum please feel free to move it.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

You can use ConfigTool to find the doorbell camera on your network and edit the IP address.

I have attached some images to assist with the process.

Modifiying IP using ConfigTool

Download and extract ConfigTool, locate the configtool.exe application in the folder, and run it.

In the ConfigTool interface, click on Search Setting and enter the username/password of the Doorbell camera in the fields.

Find the DB camera in the list and edit the IP address to a static IP address of your choosing.

Thanks Yarden...

I finally got back to working on the issue and got it all sorted out.

I had a guest network set up on my mesh router and did not understand how that all worked. A call to Linksys sorted me out in a hurry! One is NEVER too old to learn anything! I do every day.

I do have the doorbell set up and working now. I added the camera to my Elite NVR and the only disappointment is, unless I am missing something there is no option to set the NVR to record on motion only on that particular device. My only options are general 24/7 recording. It does however show the motion events in Yellow over Green in the playback timeline.

Another thing that would be nice is if it would work with EVP instead of having to have another app (DMSS) on the phone. The app does not have to be open to work though... Alerts the phone just fine when someone pushes the button (phone rings) and if it sees motion I get a banner notification.

If I am missing something on the recording settings please let me know.
