Benefits of Remote Viewing CCTV footage

There are a few benefits to remote viewing that you probably won’t even think about given the opportunity. You get a bird’s eye view of what’s happening in the building.  Your own eyes are the most accurate means of telling you what’s happening inside a building, so if you’re interested in security or just want to be as thorough as possible, this is the best way to go. The image is real-time, so you get instant feedback. Because the images are being sent from the camera to your computer, you get instant feedback on what the camera sees. You can see for yourself by running the command “ping LOCAL-IP-ADDRESS” on your computer and seeing if you get a response back. If you don’t, then you won’t know for sure whether or not the ping response is legitimate.

CCTV is a very helpful tool when it comes to keeping an eye on your property. With so many cameras out in the field these days, it’s really easy to see what’s happening in someone else’s footage. Using remote viewing, you can see what’s happening inside the camera and even see what’s happening inside the computer. For people who are interested in security and the like, this is a great way to get started because you get to see what the camera is seeing without having to get up and move around. With so much footage out there now, it’s very easy to get overwhelmed. You might even find yourself accidentally recording footage from time to time. With remote viewing, you can see what’s happening in the camera and delete the footage you’re not interested in seeing.
