Randomly my cameras are turning off. Everything is good for a week or two, then one will shut off sometime during the day. Only way to get it back is to reboot NVR. After rebooting, all is good. Then, days later it happens again. I have since set the NVR to reboot automatically each night. So, that way if I forget to manually reboot, the camera will come back on. Its not specific to any camera. Thinking it's something with the NVR.

During the day is when you are awake and start to use network resources.  This can happen if there is not enough bandwidth for all information to move around the network.  You can try to lower the encoding settings in the camera for the main and sub stream to see if that alleviates your issue.

Don't think it's a bandwidth issue. Everything was good for two days, then last night at 12:30 a.m. , a different camera turns off. I've already turned encoding settings down.

This is still happening all the time. Random cameras at random times. NVR issue?

The specifications show that only  3MP@15fps can be used for that NVR.  Can you verify that you do not have settings greater than  3MP@15fps?  Is there playback evidence that the cameras are going dark or is it something you are noticing live?  Did you adjust the camera settings by logging into the camera or through the NVR?  IP cameras require you to log into the cameras.

Playback evidence of camera going dark. Not sure how to log into the ip camera, all instructions I see say to use 192.168.0.108 ,but that is my nvr ip.

Hi Eric,

From what I see in your Purchase History you have a NVR-ELT-4-POE4 which has an internal POE switch. Any device connected to this internal switch cannot be accessed by any device on the normal network, think of it as a Virtual Lan.

Here is an article that I wrote a few months back that shows how to access the cameras IP with this type of Recorder. You should be able to connect a laptop to one of these ports assign an IP and match all the items like in the article and access the camera from there.

Thank you. I was able to login to the cameras themselves. However, all the settings were the same that I had for them in the NVR. Main stream is 1080@15fps, sub is d1

You order shows 2 IPOB-EL3MPIR50 cameras.  Do you have any other cameras?

In the Encode section of the camera, make sure you check the drop down box called Type.  There can be a stream for Regular, Motion, and Alarm that should have settings checked and possibly reduced.

Check your NVR and Cameras' info for the version of the firmware and date.

This is what the DVR on my desk looks like.  Cut and paste that System Version line from all cameras and DVRs.  Include the model number with each.  Send the info and firmware reqeusts to tech@techprosecurity.com Thank you!
